Nose A enticing nose, with an abundance of ripe plum, candied cherries, a slight peppery note and hints of fresh violets.
Palate Juicy and vibrant, with hints of smoky oak spice. Dense, rich blackberries, plum and pepper from the Syrah dominant blend are met with smooth and supple tannins.

Notes Boekenhoutskloof was originally established in 1776, in the furthest corner of the beautiful Franschhoek valley. Boekenhoutskloof is a founder member of the Franschhoek Mountain Conservancy, an initiative to improve to improve fire management and fynbos conservation in the valley. Their red blend (also known as the "Baby Chocolate Block") is a fusion of 86% Syrah, 13% Mourvedre and 1% Viognier. The Syrah component has been slightly increased from previous vinages, with partial maturation on French oak for 9 months.
