Full, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, near impenetrable, a little lighter on the rim. This has a softly full and deep nose with aromas of sweetly ripened dark-red and black plums along with blackberry and boysenberry fruit, entwined with nuances of black pwepper and spices, and sweet oak vanillins. Full-bodied, the palate is succulently rich with very ripe fruit flavours of black plums, boysenberries and blueberries, along with black pepper nuances, unfolding spices and sweet oak, and eucalypt nuances. The mouthfeel is rich and juicy with fine-grained tannin structure in support and a thread of acidity providing energy. The fruitiness carries the wine to a sweet finish balanced by fine, dry textures. This is a rich, juicy and succulently sweet, ripe Shiraz with flavours of black plums and boysenberries, along with pepper, spices and eucalypt. Match with grilled and roasted red meat dishes over the next 8+ years. A barrel selection wine. Shiraz fruit fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 18 months in 2-5 y.o. French and American oak hogsheads.
